Learn to Knit
Next Class: Wednesdays January 21st & 28th, 2026 10:30AM - 12PM
Course Overview
This class is ideal for those who have never knit before, or want a refresher of knitting basics. The first session will focus on the basic stitches and casting and off. After mastering these techniques in the first 90 min session, you will learn to make a simple scarf in the second session.
Skills Required
No previous knitting experience. Fun for ages 10 years or older.
Skills Taught
- Slip knot
- Backwards loop cast on
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Casting off (also known as Binding off)
- Long-tail cast on
Materials / Supplies - These will be provided as part of the class and are included in the class fee.
- 1 skein of Berroco Ultra Wool (yarn weight 4) yarn
- US 8 (5mm) single point needles
- "How to Knit" book by Leslie Ann Bestor (a $9.95 value)
What else you need to have available:
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
There needs to be a minimum of 3 people to run this class.
Cancellation Policy
Full payment is needed to reserve your space. For a full refund on the class, cancellations must be made 5 days before the class. All refunds are given as store credit only. If we cancel the class for any reason or we are able to fill your slot, you will receive a full refund.
