Course Overview

Keep knitting scarves but want to do more? Learn the next level of knitting techniques while knitting a hat in the round. We will learn knitting in the round, working with circular and double point needles, and decreases. This class will provide all of the skills to make the Ball & Skein Basic Beanie hat, a shop favorite!

Over two 60 minute sections you will learn how work with circular needles to join your work in the round. The basic beanie starts with ribbing, followed by stockinette stitch for the body, followed by decrease rounds to shape the crown. You'll be a beanie making pro by the end of the 2 sessions!

Skills Required

You should be able to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off without assistance.

Materials/Supplies included in the class fee

Ball & Skein Basic Beanie pattern

Materials/Supplies NOT included in the fee that you’ll need to bring
You will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies.

1 100 gram skein of worsted weight yarn
1 set of US 6 16 inch circular knitting needles
1 set of US 8 16 inch circular knitting needles
1 set of US 8 double point knitting needles (required for crown shaping)
Stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round
Tapestry needle to weave in ends

There needs to be a minimum of 3 people to run this class.

Cancellation Policy
Full payment is needed to reserve your space. For a full refund on the class, cancellations must be made 5 days before the class. All refunds are given as store credit only. If we cancel the class for any reason or we are able to fill your slot, you will receive a full refund.
