Christmas Balls Colorwork Workshop

Course Overview
If you're interested in knitting your own festive holiday decorations, but are new to charted and stranded colorwork, then this workshop is for you! This class is inspired by the new bestselling book "65 New Christmas Balls to Knit" by Arne and Carlos. This class meets in-person at the shop. 

Kathy will guide you through selecting yarns and fillings and provide basic instruction on the Christmas ball pattern that is the basis of all 65 knitted balls. Each of the patterns is explained by a chart; there are no complicated instructions to follow; so once you’ve mastered the basic pattern you can create any of the designs simply and easily. You will receive advice on all the key techniques required, including casting on, increasing, decreasing, working stranded colorwork and making a hanging loop. 

Skills Required
You should be able to knit, purl, cast on, cast off, and be familiar with basic stitch increasing and decreasing techniques. Bonus if you have experience with stranded colorwork.

You will need to bring the following Materials/Supplies to the class
You will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies. We will provide the wool batting to stuff one ornament.

• A copy of the 65 New Christmas Balls to Knit by Arne and Carlos book
• Yarn to knit your Christmas Ball
  • Scrap yarn is ok for the workshop or you can purchase a Christmas Ball Mini-Skein Set
  • DK weight is recommended
• Knitting needles appropriate for your yarn weight
  • If using DK weight, recommend US 4 DPNs or 32" circular if using magic loop
• 3mm (US C-D) crochet hook to make the hanging loop
• Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle, Scissors

There needs to be a minimum of 3 people to run this class.
