Learn to Knit a Simple Smocked Vest

Next class: Mondays, September 14 & 28, 2026 4:15 - 6:15PM

Overview:
A sweater may still be intimidating to you, so why not try out a vest?!? This Smocked Vest is actually all K2, P2 stitching...with a few special techniques to get the smocking effect! In this class you will learn how to create a vest in 2 pieces that are stitched together. The shop sample is the Skye Vest knit using 2 big balls of Koma. This class meets in-person at the shop.

Skills Required:
You should be able to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off without assistance. You should be familiar with basic techniques for increasing and decreasing stitches. 

You will need to bring the following Materials/Supplies to the class
You will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies.

• Yarn to knit your vest (recommend Koma, Ito or Mebuki)
• US 6 & US 7 needles (or needles appropriate for your yarn gauge)
• Stitch Markers, scissors, row counter, tapestry needle

There needs to be a minimum of 3 people to run this class.

Full payment is needed to reserve your space. For a full refund on the class, cancellations must be made 5 days before the class. All refunds are given as store credit only. If we cancel the class for any reason or we are able to fill your slot, you will receive a full refund.
