Math for Knitters Level 2: A Deep Dive into the Mathematics of Knitting Featuring Kate Atherley - Online

We are so fortunate to host Kate Atherley, author of Math for Knitters, to teach this class. The class meets Online via Zoom on Saturday October 31st @ 9 - 11AM PDT.

A Deep Dive into the Mathematics of Knitting!

We’ll review the arithmetic of patterns, offering tools for dealing with vague instructions like "increase evenly across." We’ll talk about the logic puzzles that come up in working from patterns. We’ll dig into the significance and role of gauge, and provide solutions for making adjustments in patterns. And we’ll discuss the mathematics of design and pattern adjustments, providing solutions and formulas to solve a variety of problems and challenges.

We will take time to address student questions, to tailor the session to specific areas of interest. Attendees are encouraged to share the topics that they wish to discuss.

Suitable for intermediate knitters. Note that although we will touch on the topics, this is NOT specifically a garment alterations or design class.
