Join us for the inaugural Little Big Sur Stitching Retreat set along one of the most serene and stunning stretches of California’s coast. Spend your days stitching, learning, laughing, and creating alongside talented instructors who will inspire you with fresh techniques and new ideas. When it’s time to unwind, savor delicious local cuisine and take in the beauty of the coast that surrounds you.

And each evening brings a new experience as we partner with a different local winery each night, giving you the chance to sip exceptional local wines, enjoy the company of fellow stitchers, and experience a little more of what makes this region so special.

Retreat Price

$1,995 per person. Enjoy the 10% OFF Early Bird Retreat Rate until the end of 2026.

Secure your spot today by paying the full Early Bird Retreat Rate or with a $500 non-refundable deposit. If you pay the $500 deposit now and submit the remaining balance before the end of 2026, you will still receive the Early Bird Rate. If your remaining balance is paid after January 1, 2027, you will not receive the Early Bird Rate.

Non-stitching friends are welcome to join at the rate of $850 that includes all meals and the Hearst Castle Tour. They can also enjoy the 10% OFF Early Bird Rate until the end of 2026.

What's Not Included

• Lodging is not included in the retreat registration. After you register for the retreat you will receive a link to book a room at the Cavalier Resort. Single Rooms are $229 per night and Double Rooms are $249 per night.
• Travel to and from San Simeon, CA. The closest airport is the San Luis Obispo County Airport (SBP).

Our Instructors

With over 1300 designs in print, Melissa Leapman is one of the most widely-published American crochet and knit designers at work today. She is the author of several bestselling knit and crochet books, including Cables Untangled, Mastering Color Knitting, and Knitting the Perfect Fit (all published by Random House).

Benjamin Matthews is a Teacher, Independent Knitwear Designer and Artist. He focuses on designing easy knits...perfect for the new knitter or the one who wants to binge on Netflix while crafting. He loves everything about knitting, from the actual act to the people you meet.

Cancellation Policy

Because lodging, event space, instructors, and materials must be reserved well in advance, the following cancellation policy applies:

• The $500 deposit is non-refundable.
• Cancellations made before February15, 2027 will receive a refund of payments made minus the $500 deposit.
• Cancellations made between February 16 and March 15, 2027 will receive a 50% refund of payments made minus the $500 deposit.
• After March 16, 2027, no refunds will be issued.
• However, if we can fill the space from the waitlist, you will always receive a refund of payments made minus the $500 deposit. All cancellations and transfers must be handled through Ball & Skein.

I strongly recommend that participants purchase travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage in case unexpected circumstances arise.

Waitlist Policy

If the retreat reaches capacity, a waitlist will be maintained. If a participant cancels after the refund deadline, we will attempt to fill the space from the waitlist. Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee a spot.
