NOTES
The lower body is worked in one piece to the underarms using a circular needle to accommodate the stitches, and then divides for working the upper back and fronts separately to the shoulders. The armhole edgings and the combined front bands with short-rowed collar are worked during finishing.

The lower body divides for the fronts and back in Row 8 of the pattern for all sizes. The 2 stitches bound off at each underarm are either the center stitches of a p4 group, or the center stitches of a k6 group when viewed from the RS. This allows the pattern to be mirrored on each side of the divide, so the pattern will match at the shoulders. Because of the placement of the underarm bind-offs, the combined fronts are wider than the back, which is a benefit for those who are wider in the front themselves—more common than being wider in the back!

The Textured Leaf pattern may be worked from the chart or from the written directions in the Stitch Guide.

During shaping, if there are not enough pattern stitches to work a yarnover together with its companion k2tog or ssk decrease, work the stitch as it appears instead (knit the knits and purl the purls).
